Blair Bowman is an in demand whisky writer and consultant specialising in Scotch whisky.
He hosts talks and whisky tastings around the world.
Blair Bowman has been involved in the whisky industry since he was of legal drinking age, firstly as a co-founder of the award winning Aberdeen University Malt Whisky Society. It was during this time that he discovered his love of whisky and thirst for knowledge of all things whisky.
From there he was invited to judge at various whisky competitions including the International Whisky Competition in Chicago as well as Spirit of Speyside Awards and started to write a monthly whisky column for Scottish Field Magazine while still at university.
While living in Barcelona, as part of a year abroad, he noticed one day it was World Gin Day and due to his love of whisky he was surprised to find that a World Whisky Day did not exist. After purchasing the domain name www.WorldWhiskyDay.com things rapidly snowballed and people all over the world were gearing up to celebrate the very first World Whisky Day in 2012.
Since then hundreds and hundreds of events across every continent (including Antarctica!) have taken place on World Whisky Day varying from private events to large festivals with thousands of attendees.
World Whisky Day is now a well establish annual celebration for all things whisky related.
World Whisky Day is on the third Saturday in May each year.
Blair is passionate about introducing people to whisky and has been actively promoting whisky for over eight years.
